Raring to Read

It’s that time of year! Lone Cone Library is having their Summer Reading Kick-off BBQ on June 7 at 5:00 pm. Join them for the annual BBQ and register for one of their Summer Reading Programs.

Broomfield Library’s Teen Summer Kickoff Party is May 31 at the inventHQ Makerspace. Start your Summer Library Adventures with snacks, crafts, and fun activities.

Join Delta County Libraries for their all-ages Summer Reading Program Kick-off Party on May 29 at Hotchkiss Public Library. Drop in from 3:00 to 5:30 pm for fun crafts, registration prizes, and other incredible activities.

Pines & Plains Libraries’ 2024 Summer Reading Program: Elbert County Through the Years celebrates the 150th anniversary of Elbert County. Join them for a kickoff party at the Elizabeth Branch on June 1 for a petting zoo, face painting, fun games, ice cream, barrel train rides, and more!

Louisville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program Kickoff on May 30 features a Festival Plaza Concert with Jeff and Paige. Dance, sing, and play as you celebrate a summer of reading.

Join Moffat County Libraries for their Summer Reading Kick-off Carnival, June 1 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at the Craig Branch.

Make & Learn

South Routt Libraries invites you to get your bike ready for riding season at Rolling into Spring on May 25 at Oak Creek Library. While you’re there, get a tune-up from Routt County Riders and see the Bike Match and Ready to Ride programs in action.

Do you know what to pack in case of a natural disaster or other emergency? Aurora Public Library invites you to Make a Go Bag, part of their Life Skills series, on May 24, 4:00 pm, at Martin Luther King Jr Library.

Berthoud Community Library welcomes Junko Goodwin from the Japan America Society of Colorado for an Origami class on May 29 at 6:00 pm.

Lake County Public Library and the Leadville Historic Preservation Commission are partnering to offer Researching Your Historic Leadville Home, a class at Leadville City Hall on May 28.

Mancos Public Library is hosting Success as a Backyard Gardener, a panel discussion on May 24 at 6:30 pm. Learn from local permaculture farmers and backyard gardeners about their keys to success.

Alamosa Public Library is hosting an Ice Cream Making Event for kids and teens on May 31 at 5:30 pm. Learn to make this tasty treat just in time for summer.

• Aira: Colorado’s 24/7 live, human-to-human state services navigator. A professionally trained agent visually interprets the live video streamed via the Aira app. The first 30 minutes of each session is free.
