Community Poetry

Pine River Library District invites you to support local poets at their Community Poetry Showcase on April 8. Members of the community and students (grades 6+) are invited to sign up for a 4-minute time slot to share their poetry.

Estes Valley Library’s POETree is a community project where members can contribute poems on the theme of “Spring.” Stop in through April 16 to take part in this shared creative endeavor.

Mesa County Libraries holds a monthly Poetry Night on the 2nd Wednesday at the Central Library. Learn about poets and poetry techniques, and share your own work for feedback.

Boulder Public Library District is hosting a Spoken Word Poetry Workshop led by Jordan Roubion on April 4 at the Main Library. Learn techniques for writing and delivering your own spoken word poems in this generative workshop—no writing experience necessary.

Get Creative

Aurora Public Library invites kids and adults to discover the art of Junk Journaling, a memory keeping technique that turns everyday materials into something meaningful. Join them on April 3 at Tallyn’s Reach Library to turn bits of paper, pages, fabrics, and other ephemera into a unique creative expression.

Broomfield Library’s Sew Social is a monthly meetup held in the inventHQ Makerspace for working on sewing projects in a community setting. On April 8 the theme is Upcycling—turn an old clothing item into something new.

Eagle Valley Library District’s next Family Saturday program features Puppet Making. Join them at Eagle Public Library on April 4 to create a puppet using materials provided by the library.

Learn about Keeping a Gratitude Journal at Buena Vista Public Library on April 9. This technique focuses on documenting the positive aspects of life to increase satisfaction.

Pikes Peak Library District welcomes all ages to their Spring Maker Day, April 4 at the Sand Creek Library Makerspace. Come experiment with watercolors, fabric, paint, and other projects to give as a gift or keep for yourself.

Jefferson County Public Library’s Día de los Niños: Book Fiesta is April 11 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Lakewood Cultural Center. Enjoy live performances, discover community organizations and resources, and have fun with activities and surprises for the whole family.

Pueblo City-County Library District invites their community to the Opening Reception for the Spring 2026 District 70 Art Show on April 3 at the Rawlings Branch. Celebrate the artwork of students from across D70.

Englewood Public Library is throwing a Hootenanny for kids on April 9 in the Community Room. The afternoon’s events will include racing horses, panning for gold, churning butter, and more.

Ignacio Community Library was recently featured on the front page of the March 27th edition of the Durango Herald. The piece focused primarily on the Library’s Virtual Reality Travel program, which lets participants explore local cuisine and a take a virtual tour of diverse cultures, but it also surveyed their many other programs and services. It’s definitely worth a read!
