Seeds Galore

Lamar Public Library’s Seed Library is open! Get unlimited free seed packets with your library card.

Pine River Library and Pine River Garden Club are offering a Seed Exchange and Seed Starting Workshop, March 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Bring your extra seeds to trade, and enjoy a morning full of garden stories, advice, and of course seeds.

Poudre River Public Library District’s 11th Annual Seed Swap and Giveaway is March 10 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Old Town Library. Bring a soil bag and some seeds to share, and bring home free seeds and seed-starting soil. Plus while you’re there, take a gardening class or chat with a Master Gardener.

The Lafayette News announced that the Flatirons Library Consortium now has Lynda.com, an online learning platform that provides technology skills training.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel featured a story on Mesa County Libraries’ 970West Studio Lounge, a professional quality recording studio that releases videos of local musicians and bands. Thanks to Shana Wade for sharing this story!

Pick ‘n’ Mix

Learn the History of the 40th parallel, known as Baseline Road, and its significance in the history of Western expansion. James Warren Andrews will present this session at Lafayette Public Library, March 3 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Developing a Mindful Posture can help reduce fatigue and boost energy. Learn better posture techniques at Gypsum Public Library, March 14 at 1:00 pm.

Broomfield Library invites kids in grades 4-8 to a special 2-hour Petra Music Workshop, March 31 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Rock band Mother Falcon will lead kids in an exploration of famous film and tv scores, then help the group compose their own musical score.

Summit County Library’s South Branch wants to help you Learn to Knit in 4 Weeks. Starting March 5 at 5:30 pm, novice knitters will learn the skills necessary to start their new hobby. Knitting needles and yarn will be provided.

CSU’s Morgan Library is hosting An Evening with Kate Moore, author of The Radium Girls, March 7 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Hilton Fort Collins. This free, public event is part of an author series sponsored by the Friends of Morgan Library and the Poudre River Friends of the Library.

Play the tabletop version of a popular Olympic sport: Clear Creek Library District will host its first ever Tabletop Curling Tournament for kids and teens, March 26 at John Tomay Public Library and March 29 at Idaho Springs Public Library.

DPL’s Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library is celebrating Pi Day with…pie! The event will also include a short lecture about the origins of pie and 𝝅. Join them March 14 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.
