Don’t judge a book by its cover. All month long in February at Delta County Libraries, go on a Blind Date with a Book and perhaps it will be love at first sight! If you don’t enjoy it, no hurt feelings, just dump it (in the library book drop!). A selection of books will be wrapped and on display for patrons to checkout.
Love is in the ViR at Loveland Public Library’s Valentine Virtual Reality Party on February 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm! Show some love for virtual reality by dropping in, hanging out, and gaming with Oculus Rift VR systems.. Fight robots, visit space, build your dream world, run from zombies, and more! Nintendo Switch and XBox One will also be available for free play. Snacks and refreshments provided. Ages 17+.
Feel the love and Make Your Own Valentines at Garfield County’s Carbondale Branch Library on February 13 or 14. Drop-in any time the library is open – all craft supplies will be provided and all ages are welcome.
Bring your sweetie to the Summit County Library between February 1st – 14th for a Library Date Night! Complete one of four fun or flirty task cards, and present your completed task card to a librarian to get it stamped. Take your stamped card to Aurum in Breckenridge, Timberline Craft Kitchen in Silverthorne, or 5th Ave Grill in Frisco for one free glass of wine or beer. * Happy Date Night! *Redeemable between Feb 1 – 17 for one free glass of wine or beer up to $15 per task card.
Middle and High Schoolers are invited to drop in to Durango Public Library’s Teen Time: Valentine’s Day Snacks on February 12 from 4:00-5:00 pm. Create some sweet treats for Valentine’s Day – chocolate-dipped fruit, cupcake decorating, and sweetheart Cheerio bites will be available to make!
Pick ‘n’ Mix
Join Bemis Library on February 12 from 2:00-3:30 pm for SPARK! Arts. This FREE program is offered by the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) for people experiencing mild memory loss, early stage Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, and their family, friends, and guests. Registration Required for Participant and Caregiver. Call the library at 303-795-3961.
Mesa County Library’s 970West Artist in Residence TJ Smith hosts Artist Workshop: Recording Memories on Paper on February 6 from 6:00-7:30 pm. Learn the basics of layout and composition, as well as collage and printmaking techniques, to create a handheld memory booklet. Participants are encouraged to bring in photos, ephemera, or found objects from a particular event or moment in time to use in creating a personal booklet of remembrance. Supplies are included. Registration is required.
February 29 is Leap Day! This special day only happens every four years, but do you know why? Join Arapahoe Libraries on February 3 from 5:30-6:30 pm to Learn About Leap Day with crafts, games and treats!
Douglas County Library hosts “Chocolate Therapist” Julie Nygard on February 8 from 1:00-2:30 pm for Tea & Chocolate. Increase your tea savvy with a guided tea and chocolate pairing.
