Literary Delights

FoCo Book Fest is back for 2023! Sponsored by Poudre River Public Library District in partnership with CSU Libraries and CSU’s Department of English, the Fort Collins Book Fest is a month-long celebration in February that features author visits, writing workshops, readings, panel discussions, and more. Hark! Durango Public Library is holding a “Shake”spearean Preschool Soirée on Feb. 4. Don your best Renaissance-inspired outfit and dance the morning away! Learn more.

Join Fort Morgan Library and Museum for an Alice in Wonderland UnBirthday Party on Jan. 28. Kids ages 5-10 will enjoy Wonderland-themed stories, snacks, crafts, and fun. Event details.

Salida Regional Library’s Junior Author Workshop meets every Friday in February beginning on the 3rd. This author-led series will help kids learn how to publish their own book. Events calendar.

Aurora Public Library is offering All-Ages Chess Lessons, a six-week course from Feb. 3 through Mar. 17 at Tallyn’s Reach Library. Instructors are volunteers from the Denver Chess Club. Register online.

Park County Public Libraries has a Canasta Club! Join them every Wednesday at 12:00 to play canasta or bridge. Event details.

Pikes Peak Library District’s Art for Older Adults is a monthly series where adults 55+ can produce high-quality art projects that respect their wealth of life experiences, skills, and innate capacity to create. The next meeting is Feb. 2 at East Library. Register online.

Broomfield Library’s Crafty Night Out is a series for adults 21+ at the inventHQ Makerspace. The program on February 1 will feature custom embroidered valentines, perfect for someone special. A waiver is required.

Make a Macramé Wall Hanging at Wilkinson Public Library’s Adult Craft Night on Feb. 1. Instructors Dennis and Shawnna will teach you this retro 1970s crafting technique. Register online.

Vail Public Library is hosting a Lunar New Year Celebration on Jan. 31. The event kicks off with a parade at Lionshead at 4:00, then continues at the library with performances by Vail Mountain School’s Chinese students, plus themed arts, crafts, food, and games. Event details.

Estes Valley Library is hosting Get to Know the Estes Park Museum and Your Local Museum Professionals presented by staff from the Estes Park Museum and YMCA of the Rockies.
