Colorado Virtual Events Calendar: Social Media Toolkit & Website Integration

Libraries from all over the state of Colorado are sharing their events via the Colorado Virtual Events Calendar, and we’re making it easy for you to share the calendar with your library patrons through social media and website integration options.

Social Media Toolkit

Sample social media posts and graphics have been created to help libraries, schools, districts, state agencies and individuals in Colorado point community members to the newly launched Colorado Virtual Events Calendar. Just copy and paste the text! Please note that these are just suggested social media posts to make it easy for you, but you are more than welcome to modify and/or use additional posts.

Integration

Beyond promoting the Colorado Virtual Calendar to your communities via social media and communication channels, we’ve also made it super easy to embed the calendar on your website using the snippets of code provided below. All you have to do is inset the code for the calendar view of your choice into the HTML of the page of your website where you would like the calendar to appear. Given below are examples of a large, full version of the calendar and the code needed to integrate it, and a formatted list view, that could be incorporated into side bar. The calendar container will generally expand to 100% of its containing element. Other calendar views are available – we’ve provided a few options to explore at: Virtual Events Calendar Embeds.  If you’d like to learn about other options for the appearance of the calendar, or if you need assistance, please contact Marisa Wood at mwood@coloradovirtuallibrary.org.
