Book Club Author Suggestion: Tana French
Brief Bio Tana French (born 10 May 1973) is an American-Irish writer and theatrical actress…
The Colorado Book Club Resource (BCR) is a physical collection of more than 1,000 book club sets (each containing 8+ copies of a title) for book clubs all across the state.
We partner with local libraries and use the statewide courier service to provide the materials book clubs need!
Are you a member of a book club interested in borrowing sets? Ask your local library (the place you would pick up book club sets) to get set up for lending, if they haven’t already. Once we set a staff member up with an account, they will take care of any requests on behalf of book clubs. Enrolling is easy, and we already have established accounts with most of the libraries across the state.
An account holder is the Primary Contact at any given library branch who is responsible for taking care of any and all loans for that branch (requests from patrons/community members, their own internal book clubs, etc.). If we are contacted by community members interested in borrowing sets, we always direct them to the Primary Contact at their nearest branch, if one exists.
The BCR program was created to make it easy for staff at public libraries (and other educators) to gather the materials for book clubs.
A set is loaned out to a book club for eight weeks at a time. Book bags contain at least eight copies of the book, plus discussion questions, icebreakers, games, and giveaways. Staff at local libraries are responsible for managing the loan and returning it to the State Library using the statewide CLiC courier service. There is no cost to use the program. Refer to the links below for more information, or contact bookclub@coloradovirtuallibrary.org with any questions.
We are proud to bring you an excellent, ever-changing collection of titles that would enrich any book club’s reading. We write about some of our favorite sets in the blog posts below!
